Intro, or whatever you want
My best friend Mark, asked me a lot lately about my introduction, and when it will become available. As it turned out the thoughts just rused me, at 11:00 this morning. And I finally decided, to write a few lines about myself, and also about what you could expect from me in the future.
So let’s get started. My name is Daniel Balogh. I’ve just became 22 a month ago. Currently I live at Érd, which is about 25 kilometres from the capital Budapest.
I’ve spent my primary educational years here. And to be honest I had no idea, on what I’d want to do with my life, but we all have to move forward, haven’t we? I wasn’t a particularly good student, though I wasn’t quite bad either, lets just say an average of B. I’ve started looking for different types of courses, and schools to spend my secondary years in, and I found tourism interesting at that time.
From the choices I’ve made the first one didn’t take me in, and if I’m thinking about this now, I’m glad that it happened that way. I’ve studied hospitality and tourism for five years, and in the beginning I enjoyed it. But as soon as the school announced, that they are about to start the media courses I was really excited. Unluckily I known, that I would have to do my final exams from my originally chosen course material.
So that was the end of that.
I’ve started higher education at the College of Communication and Business Budapest (or in Hungarian Budapesti Kommunikációs és Üzleti Főiskola) in September 2014. Still on the tourism course. Although to be fair mathematics were never one of my strengths, so the first mid-term exam results were really not what I wanted. And I’ve tried several times, but the situation seemed hopeless.
I was not alone in this as most of my mates thought, that this is not their dream, that they don’t want to be accountants, or economy analysts. But they’d want to work in an environment which is much more creative, where everything has its value, and what others could enjoy as well.
After the first semester, I finally had a breakthrough, as after long waiting, sleepless nights, and grey weekday the decision has been made: THEY ALLOWED ME TO CHANGE COURSE, to communication and media.
In the first couple of weeks I have realized, that I’ve made a good decision. As I could do what I wanted, and what I really enjoy. I’m still studying, at the Metropolitan University of Budapest… And you might think, this is a different institution, but trust me it isn’t.
There has been only a change in the name, in January 2016, which I would not wish to discuss. If you are interested, Google is your friend. 😛
In terms of my hobbies, I’d say cycling (mountain,- and road cycling) touring, travelling, photography, video content creating, and writing. These are the things I’m spending most of my free time with.
